King James‘ wife, Savannah James, has caused a stir after a Los Angeles Lakers fan posted a video to TikTok that appeared to show her avoiding pictures with male fans, but happy to take pictures with females fans.

The overwhelming response on TikTok was praise for Savannah, LeBron’s high school sweetheart who has always stayed loyally by his side.

“That’s right, respect bcuz ppl will make up any kind of stories. Very classy Savannah James,” said the top response to the TikTok video, which has over 8,000 likes. The video itself generated over 1 million views on the social media platform.

“And that’s how you keep yall kingdom together salute,” said another fan who didn’t mind Savannah’s actions in the video.

There were plenty of frustrated fans in the comments as well, calling James “rude,” saying she is “overcompensating,” and wondering if LeBron upholds the same standard with female fans. Meanwhile, others called into question the authenticity of the video, attributing Savannah’s response to the way male fans approached her in the video, rather than a general pattern.

“those guys shouldn’t have approached her that way. probably would have gotten a different result,” said a comment on TikTok with over 150 likes.

Whether there was truth to the claims about Savannah’s picture taking preferences or not, the fact that it spawned so much conversation emphasized a theme of LeBron James’ career. He has avoided personal scandals, and his steadfast relationship with Savannah is a huge reason why.
