After the Kansas City Chiefs clinched a spot in their fourth Super Bowl in five seasons, Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce promised to bring victory back to Kansas City.
The promise comes as pop icon Taylor Swift cheered them on as they won AFC Championship. Swift watched the Chiefs secure a 17-10 win over the Baltimore Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium. Their triumph means they’re off to Las Vegas for the season finale on February 11 and Swift is expected to rush back from a tour date in Tokyo to attend.
Last year, the Chiefs won the Super Bowl in an exciting match against the Philadelphia Eagles – with Travis beating his brother, Jason. Now, they hope to clinch two consecutive Super Bowl victories – a first in the franchise’s record.
Mahomes vowed to secure a win in honor of Norma Hunt, whose name will be emblazoned on their jerseys. Known as the ‘First Lady of Football’, Hunt was the wife of Chiefs founder Lamar Hunt and mother of the current chairman Clark.
Asked about winning another Super Bowl, Mahomes expressed optimism, saying: “It would be awesome. I knew going on the road we were going to be OK..
“We’ve got a lot of dawgs in that locker room, and those guys came to play today. Defense, offense, special teams.
“We came back, and like Clark said, we’re going to win this trophy with Norma Hunt’s name on this jersey, we promise you that. So we went out and go that thing.”
Mahomes then introduced Kelce to the stage. Kelce caught the first touchdown of the game and had 11 catches for 116 yards, surpassing Jerry Rice for the NFL record for most postseason receptions, as the pair played a leading role in the win.
After the game, Swift made her way onto the field where she kissed Kelce and they shared an emotional moment. She was then stood on the field just yards away from the podium where Kelce was introduced by Mahomes to be interviewed by Jim Nantz.

In typical Kelce fashion, he was just as confident as Mahomes as he vowed to win the third Super Bowl ring of his career. “We going to Vegas!” Kelce said. “We’re going to get us another one!”
Swift arrived at the game alongside Mahomes’ wife, Brittany. The pair have built up a close friendship in recent months since she started dating Kelce. His parents, Donna and Ed, were also watching, as well as brother Jason, who was more subdued than he was in Buffalo the previous week when his shirtless antics went viral.
