After Maria Sharapova shared a phone number on social media last week, the recently retired tennis star received a flood of messages. Within 40 hours, she claimed to have been texted 2.2 million times, most of which were flirtatious messages.
She shared the number on Twitter, describing her reaction while also quoting her original tweet which included the new phone number. The Russian athlete wants to take advantage of the quarantine period in California to get closer to her followers. So earlier this week she joined a video call with 150 of them.
However, the beautiful Russian girl felt that the number of interactions was still “too little”, so Sharapova decided to reveal her personal phone number so fans could send messages directly to her.
Maria shared the video on Twitter with the message: “Last week I had a great time doing a video call with 150 people. I loved that conversation and I wish I was more connected with fans because we are all self-quarantined. I will leave my phone number and you can text me directly. My phone number is: (+1) 310-564- 7981” .
Perhaps after receiving 2.2 million messages, Maria Sharapova had to upset many people because she could not reply to all this huge amount of messages.
