Serena Williams’ Hilariously Candid Wig Moment: From Icon of the Year to Unveiling the Take-Off Routine!

Tennis legend Serena Williams recently shared a video of her taking out her wig while cradling her newborn baby, Adira River Ohanian. The 24-time Grand Slam winner is hilariously candid and transparent about how hectic it is to wear and remove a wig.

As she struggled to remove her wig, the person who shot the video could not help but burst out in laughter and revealed that this was after Serena came back home from winning the Icon of the Year award.

That's a (inaudible). That's the hair coming off from winning icon of the year.

This implied that the video was four weeks old and was shot after Serena won the CFDA Fashion Icon Award. She received the award from fashion icon Kim Kardashian. The 42-year-old has always been very passionate about fashion. She completed a degree in fashion from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale before becoming a top tennis phenomenon.

Later, Serena Williams also started her own fashion brand named ‘S by Serena’ that sells women’s clothes. The fashion icon award that she won can be said to be the Oscar of the fashion industry and this shows how highly she is rated in it. The Council of Fashion Designers of America decided that the retired tennis player should receive the award this year.

I explored fashion and style as a way to distinguish myself. In many ways for me, the tennis courts became my runway.
Serena said after receiving the award.

In a recent tweet, Serena Williams admitted that she keeps thinking about the future, which ultimately leads to nothing. Quoting Master Oogway from the popular kids’ animated series Kung Fu Panda, the American said that she needs to live in the present because it’s a gift from God.

I often live too far in the future. Wondering about how I will feel tomorrow or in 10 years. I need to focus on the now. I love this quote from Master Oogway (Kung Fu Panda) ‘Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery and today is a gift. That's why we call it the present'.

Serena retired in 2022 and has since been giving time to her family. She and her husband, Alexis Ohanian, recently welcomed their second child, Adira River Ohanian, on August 22, 2023.
