One day a lure: The 3D Lizard from Savage Gear

"" The 3D Lizard from Savage Gear is an imitation of a lizard/newt which will be very popular with bass or pike during this summer period.

This month of August is good for black bass fishing and as they are often in demand and get used to the eternal worms, you might as well try to catch them with a lure that is little used here, lizards.

Lizards or lizard in English are in fact imitations of newts which are very appreciated by carnivores when they come to reproduce in the water in March April, however they will imitate a creature which will quickly be designated by the predator as potential prey even outside the newt’s breeding season.

Savage Gear therefore offers us an imitation of a lizard with stunning realism in terms of silhouette. As usual, they scanned a real lizard to use as a model and it was very successful.

Measuring 10 cm according to the manufacturer but closer to 14 once deployed, it weighs 5.85g and will be launched without ballast with an ML rod.

Its tail is a very flexible flagellum which will give a very flexible undulation without causing twisting in the lure when swimming. This is a very visual aspect for fishing if you fish with it weightless but you will obtain a grub effect by placing it on a jig head or a rubberjig. You can even use it as a spinnerbait or chatterbait trailer but that is not its purpose.

This sinking lure is flavored with an attractant, I haven’t been able to discover the base but it looks like squid.

This lure is available in a blister pack of 6 pieces and in 5 colors. The colors are very typical bass but are effective on pike, perch and zander.

The material of the lure is very tonic, it does not have a slot for a Texan rig but its relief allows it to hide an offset hook point.

In the past, when Nokill did not exist or hardly existed, it was customary when emptying your catch to go and see what was in their stomach. You would be surprised to know that I have found newts in the stomachs of pike on many occasions. Predators seem to like this type of prey that is fairly easy to catch.

This type of lure works very well by slowly scraping the bottom, or even pulling it gently. To be tested this summer.

Keep fishing
