Maria Sharapova Makes Tennis Comeback for the First Time Since Retirement as the “Doll” of the Court

After announcing her retirement in February 2020, “doll” Maria Sharapova completely left tennis to focus on family and business. However, recently, the 36-year-old beauty suddenly appeared in the stands at King National Stadium to watch the matches of the US Open.

Sharapova’s presence immediately attracted attention because this was the first time she was present at a major tennis event in more than 3 years. The media praised the nobility of the mother of one child. Some fans think that she has aged backwards since she retired from tennis.

Sharing in People magazine, Sharapova said she is satisfied with her current life and praised the progress of young athletes.

“I am satisfied with what I have. I appreciate everything tennis has taught me and given me. But currently, I prefer to watch it instead of competing,” Sharapova revealed. “I want to watch young athletes compete, witness them shine like now. I think the US Open is the first tennis tournament I’ve attended since retiring. My current feelings are very special”.

She started dating businessman Alexander Gilkes since 2018 and the two welcomed their first little angel in April 2022.
