Patrick Mahomes played the role of a gracious host during Sporting Kansas City’s game against Inter Miami.

The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback is a part owner of Sporting KC and was in attendance for the team’s matchup against Inter Miami. He ventured to see Miami star Lionel Messi before the game and shook his hand.
Mahomes also met with many of Sporting KC’s players ahead of the matchup.
Messi was set to make his first start since March 2 and the game is being played at Arrowhead Stadium, the home of the Chiefs. This is in an attempt to break the MLS attendance record.
Mahomes has been a part owner of Sporting KC since 2020 and is also part owner of the Kansas City Royals of MLB and the Kansas City Current of the NWSL. Sporting KC entered Saturdays game with a 3-4-1 record and sit in second in the Western Conference. Inter Miami is 3-3-3 and in third place in the Eastern Conference.
