Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud missed the team’s win over the Tennessee Titans last Sunday and will likely miss a second straight game this coming Sunday against the Cleveland Browns as he remains in the concussion protocol, Adam Schefter reports.
“He should miss another game,” Schefter reported on Tuesday, adding that the Texans will continue to monitor Stroud’s progress before making a final decision.
Stroud suffered the concussion during the Texans’ 30-6 loss to the New York Jets on December 10th.
Case Keenum, who started in place of Stroud vs the Titans will stay the starter if the No. 2 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft can’t get cleared. Keenum threw for 229 yards, one touchdown and one interception in the Texans 19-16 overtime win over to move to 8-6 on the season.
The Texans signed former Jets quarterback Tim Boyle to the practice squad Tuesday.
