The discovery of a white-tailed fawn in a Minnesota forest two years ago is believed to be the first recorded case of a Siamese twin deer being born and raised by its mother.
This study was recently published in the scientific journal American Midland Naturalist, presenting it as a landmark case among wildlife deformities.
Conjoined twins rarely occur in women, and most never achieve it. In fact, scientists still don’t know exactly what causes this phenomenon.
Moving image taxidermy placed the conjoined fawns on a bed of vegetation; however, they will eventually be transferred to the Minnesota DNR headquarters in St. Paul and placed on public display.
