Retired tennis pro Maria Sharapova and her fiancé – Squared Circles co-founder Alexander Gilkes – inspected a new house in Los Angeles on Sunday.
The Russian 33-year-old dressed her fit 6ft2in figure in the $480 Bassike ‘Boxy V-neck Weekend Knit’ sweater and matching $380 ‘Cotton Gusset Detail’ pants.
Maria accessorized her indigo attire with Dries Van Noten sandals, pink sunglasses, and a fan-shaped, star-spangled clutch.
After their meeting, Sharapova removed her coronavirus-protective face mask while the 41-year-old Englishman kept his on.
The Sugarpova co-creator felt safer considering she was vaccinated from the fast-spreading virus last Wednesday.
Thank you to all the healthcare workers who have worked so swiftly and courageously to keep us protected,’ Maria – who boasts 27.6M social media followers – tweeted.
‘Grateful. And emotional.’
It’s unclear precisely how Sharapova was eligible as she has no known underlying health condition or disabilities currently required for the vaccine.
According to myturn.ca.gov – people aged 16-64 are eligible if they have cancer, chronic kidney disease of Stage 4 or above, chronic pulmonary disease, Down syndrome, compromised immune system from solid organ transplant, pregnancy, sickle cell disease, heart conditions such as heart failure, coronary artery disease and cardiomyopathies (excluding hypertension), severe obesity, and Type 2 diabetes mellitus.
The LA County Department of Public Health also allows people who are teachers, living in underserved communities, or living/working in high-risk congregate residential settings.
As of Monday, there have been 1.2M confirmed COVID-19 cases in Los Angeles leading to 23,103 deaths – according to Johns Hopkins University.
After over two years of dating, Alexander proposed to the former athlete on December 17 with a $400K five-carat engagement ring designed by Jessica McCormack.
In 2016, Gilkes ended his four-year marriage to designer Misha Nonoo, who’s close friends with the Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle.
Meanwhile, Maria ended her 10-month engagement to LA Laker Sasha Vujacic in 2012, and she dated Bulgarian tennis pro Grigor Dimitrov from 2012-2015.
Last Tuesday, Sharpova announced her collaboration with Vancouver-based Rove Concepts on a new collection of six items for the home.
‘It was important that the collection look and feel as beautiful today as it will in five or 10 years,’ the former athlete told Who What Wear on Thursday.
‘Traveling for tennis, I always took extra time to explore the architecture and art in cities around the world. I took this personal passion a step further designing my own home a couple of years ago.
‘So when the opportunity to partner with Rove came up, it felt like an exciting new challenge and a great way to continue learning in the design world.’
Maria – a five-time Grand Slam champion – officially announced her retirement from professional tennis on February 26, 2020.
Maria was previously banned from the sport for 15 months and temporarily lost endorsements after being caught taking the Russian heart drug mildronate/meldonium in 2016.
Despite being a United States resident since 1994, Sharapova has no plans on becoming a citizen of the country.
