Jaylen Brown received high praise after he won his first Eastern Conference Finals MVP Monday night.
Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James gave the Boston Celtics star a shoutout on social media following his performance to close out the Indiana Pacers in Game 4.
Receiving compliments from one of the best to ever play is no small feat, especially considering James has been in Brown’s position many times throughout his career. James dominated the Eastern Conference for most of his career and likely would have brought home countless Eastern Conference Finals MVPs had the award existed when he was still playing in the conference.
Brown had an outstanding series as the Celtics swept the Pacers, averaging 29.8 points per game and proving vital in some of the biggest moments throughout. He had a game-tying three with just seconds remaining in Game 1, sending things into overtime where Boston closed it out.

He followed that performance up with a 40-point performance in Game 2, matching his playoff career high. On Monday, he had a clutch block that set up a Derrick White three to take the lead in the final minute.

While Jayson Tatum has been the Celtics clear star over the last few seasons, Brown is proving he’s just as important, and he was recognized with a trophy on Monday. Not only did he get to host the ECF MVP trophy, but he also got some recognition from the man who owned the Eastern Conference for years.
