Simone Biles made American Olympic history after winning yet another Gold Medal in the Gimnastics’ All-Around tournament. There are a couple of reasons she made history, the first one is that Simone is the oldest Gimnast to win the All-Around Gold Medal since 1976. Before her, every single champion from the last 48 years had been under the age of 20. Biles is currently 27 years old. Amid her triumph, there were multiple of the biggest figures in sports who reacted to this achievement but the most subtle one is from none other than LeBron James himself. As he posted an image with one of her achievements, LeBron James also posted animage of a goat.
To those who are not aware or live under a rock, the goat is the universal image for the ‘Greatest Of All Time’. And for LeBron James, Simone Biles definitely fits in that description. James’ post took place on hisInstagram stories, he made a big statement with this that surely didn’t go unnoticed by Simone Biles. After her achievement, Simone is now sitting at 6 Olympic Gold Medals after winning the team and singles All-Around contests. Despite this impressive achievement, Simone Biles is still pretty far away from Michael Phelps’ 23 Golde Medals. Nobody will every be able to reach the same heights that Phelps achieved.
Simone Biles did pass he legendary Anton Heida
In terms of American Olympians, Simone Biles is pretty low on the list that includes some legendary names such as Mark Spitz, Carl Lewis, Jenny Thompson, Katie Ledecky, Matt Biondi, Caleb Dressel, and Ryan Lochte among others. However, gimnasts don’t usually get many gold medals in their careers. In fact, the legendary Anton Heida held the record of most Gold Medals in Olympic Games history for an American gimnast since 1904. That is 120 years of a record Simone Biles just broke during these Olympics. So yeah, LeBron James’s assessment of his compatriot is spot on. In total, Biles has already won 9 Olympic Medals between her participations in the Rio de Janeiro, Tokyo, and Paris games.
