Former Soccer Player Brittany Mahomes Excited for Remarkable Goal as Patrick Mahomes’ KC Current Faces Gotham FC in NWSL

If there is one NFL QB who has varying interests in sports, it’s got to be Patrick Mahomes. From golf to soccer to baseball, the QB has his inclination toward all different experiences. We recently saw Mahomes meeting up with Lionel Messi ahead of the KC Sporting vs Inter Miami game. But it is not just the QB from his family who is enthralled by the field of sports. His family, especially his wife, is equally interested in the competitive world. Given this, Brittany Mahomes, who is a retired soccer player, has a few thoughts to share about her recent experience at KC Current Vs. Gotham FC in the National Women’s Soccer League.

Brittany is the co-owner of KC Current and Patrick Mahomes has a minority stake in the team. The wife of the Kansas City Chiefs QB took to Instagram after the Current vs Gotham FC game, to showcase her long-standing love for the sport and support for her side. Though the match ended in a draw, Brittany couldn’t stay away from sharing her team’s accomplishments and hyping them for the same.

Brittany Mahomes is all in for KC Current!

The match between both teams ended in a draw with both sides scoring one goal each. A couple of minutes ago, Brittany shared KC Current’s post that shows Beatriz Zaneratto’s assist to Temwa Chawinga which led to a goal. Her IG Story shared the team’s post that was captioned, “A COUNTER-ATTACK OF BEAUTY The @biazaneratto to @temwa556 connection is lethal #KCBABY” on Instagram.

The QB’s wife reposted the story with a caption that said, “This was .” The picture in the story had a caption itself, which said, “POETRY.IN.MOTION.” as it showed both women celebrating after the goal. Some would think that her attachment to soccer is a momentary affair, but the fact of the matter is, that her love for the game goes way back in time.

There was a time in her life when she played professional soccer and secured great accolades to her name. She even went to Iceland for a year to pursue her sports career. But as luck would have it, she is currently more shifted toward a fitness-focused role than as a player. Yet, attention remains drawn to what her pro soccer career looked like.

Brittany’s astonishing tale on the soccer field!

Brittany went to the University of Texas at Tyler and had a stellar soccer career at the University. During her time there, she became one of the leading scorers at the University as she netted 31 goals in her career. After she graduated in 2017, she signed with UMF Afturelding/Fram to play professional soccer and got sent to Iceland.

But a year later, she realized her wish to prioritize her responsibility to her family and hence, after she just played a season there and won a championship trophy, the soccer star returned to the US. Later, she revealed that one of the main reasons behind her returning to the States was that she wanted to be a mother and that the sport was “not her calling.”

However, she is still connected to the sport and avidly supports her team, the KC Current, showcasing her continued love for soccer through a different role and position.
