The Kansas City Chiefs stars, Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce are back in the spotlight. While NFL practice sessions might be in full swing, it looks like the athletes are still giving back to their community in the only way they know how. Although the rest of the team has been focusing on the off-season program, the stars chose to shift their focus to the Big Slick annual celebrity softball game/charity event.
According to reports from The Star, it was revealed that Mahomes and Kelce would be joining the 2024 Big Slick Charity event. Although the tight end had been a regular at the event since back in 2017, his teammate, the quarterback, was making his way to the event for the second time. In fact, just last year, the duo and other celebrities had helped the organization raise more than $3.5 million.
This year, Kelce and Mahomes will be joined by SNL’s Hiedi Gardener, Stranger Things’ Gaten Matarazzo, Kumail Nanjiani, Fortune Feimster, and even Jeff Ross. However, the athletes are not scheduled to play for the Kansas City Royals. However, that might be unfortunate given the fact that the stars previously ruled the event’s charity match.
After all, the players took over last year’s softball game and even pledged to return to the charity. Although they might have chosen to return this year, it looks like things might be a little different from last time. With Kelce and Mahomes making appearances at the Kelce Jam and even NBA games recently, it looks like there is a new fan favorite.
Ever since the Super Bowl, Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes have been taking it slow. Apart from attending their OTAs, the athletes found other ways of letting loose. From music festivals to golf games and more, they have done it all. Now, most recent, the teammates decided to kick back with a Dallas Mavericks vs Minnesota Timberwolves game. However, it did not quite turn out the way they had planned.
DAMN… Travis Kelce was booed at the Mavericks playoff game tonight while there was LOUD CHEERS for Patrick Mahomes

Both footballers pulled up to watch the match courtside. However, Mahomes was the one that received an extra warm welcome. When the camera panned to Kelce, the crowd ended up erupting in a loud round of boos. But when someone put the quarterback into the spotlight, the watchers seemed to love what they were seeing.
Shortly after the mind-boggling experience at the NBA game, Kelce gave fans a sneak peak into his reaction. In an episode of the New Heights podcast, the 34-year-old stated, “I got booed twice, it’s… whatever. I get it. I’m not from Dallas. I’m just an innocent bystander.” However, his stance did not last long with his older brother, Jason Kelce, asking whether Mahomes had been shown on screen.
Kelce set the record straight by saying, “Yeah, but… you know they’ll throw the name underneath and try and specify who they’re showing.” While the tight end has managed to bring in a lot of new Swiftie fans, it looks like he still needs to work on getting more sports fan.
