Pat Mahomes Sr. has officially been charged with a felony following his February arrest, according to new court records reviewed by TMZ.

The former pro-baseballer was indicted on felony charges last week for driving while intoxicated by prosecutors in Texas, where he was arrested just days before his son, Patrick Mahomes, and the Kansas City Chiefs won their second consecutive Super Bowl.

The athlete faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted, in addition to a maximum fine of $10,000.

Authorities said at the time that it started as a routine traffic stop on Feb. 3. After speaking with Mahomes Sr., police noted that he showed signs of impairment, after which he admitted to consuming alcohol at the bar before he got in the car. He also reportedly had an open container in his center console.

Mahomes Sr. was arrested and held at the Smith County Jail following the arrest. According to public records, he was booked for driving while intoxicated for at least the third time, with a bond of $10,000 to secure release. His second DWI arrest occurred in 2018, to which he pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 40 days in county jail.

He was there to see his son come out victorious against the San Francisco 49ers on Feb. 11, though he remained out of sight from the broadcast’s cameras. After the big win, the whole family posed together, including Mahomes Sr., Randi Martin, the quarterback’s mom, his wife Brittany and kids Sterling, 2, and Patrick “Bronze” Lavon, 1, and siblings Jackson Mahomes and Mia Randall.

It’s unknown when he’s due in court next.
